Built in the 18th century and recently renovated to suit refined modern living, Vista sul Golfo's timeless understated elegance is encapsulated in many original features, period furniture, precious original frescoes and ceramic tiles typical of this area. Wake up every morning to picture-postcard views and soak up the beauty of the shimmering Tyrrhenian sea as breakfast is served by the villa's staff in the frescoed dining hall or on the secluded outdoor terrace surrounded by a plethora of brightly coloured trailing geraniums.

A few minutes' walk down a paved winding lane (40 steps) are the shops, restaurants and cafes of Vietri sul Mare as well as the attractive marina and beache. Perched on cliffs plunging down to the sea, Vietri is a truly enchanting place like so many others along the Amalfi Coast but, unlike many others, it has a relatively large, flat beach. Small artisan workshops selling colourful ceramics can be spotted at every corner of these coastal villages and their artefacts would make perfect souvenirs from this region. Due to its unique look, Vietri's porcelain factory has become one of the town's landmarks, together with the striking majolica dome of the church. Within 25 miles of Vietri, along one of Italy's most scenic coastal routes, are the world-famous fishing villages of Maiori, Atrani, Amalfi, Ravello, Praiano and Positano. Boat taxis are an attractive alternative way of viewing them at their best, in all their colours and splendour from the sea.
