Converted barn for holiday in Tuscany – Villa dei Ricordi is a lovely restored barn set in pine woodlands and farmland in Southern Tuscany, only a 20 minute drive from the scenic Maremma coastline. The interior is spacious with high, beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and brick archways, and the building retains its rural charm and simplicity. A large flat garden surrounds this villa, and the tall pine trees provide many pleasant shady areas for relaxing afternoon siestas.

The pretty fishing village of Castiglione della Pescaia is one of the highlights of the Maremma coastline and is only a few miles from the villa. The nature reserve of Uccellina with its long sandy beaches, dramatic views over the island of Elba, spectacular coves and huge variety of birdlife, is another of this area's attractions. Perched on a hilltop, Massa Marittima is one of the most charming medieval towns in the area, and well within range for a morning or afternoon out. A range of colourful shops, trattorias and cafes line the narrow cobblestone streets here, attracting visitors as well as locals. And for more active days out you can chose between horse riding, cycling, country walks, and all sorts of water sports available at the coast.
