Villa Limonaia is an exceptional contemporary holiday rental villa in Amalfi Coast designed and built in the 1960s by the leading Italian architect Monaco. Set in the heart of one of the most attractive and extensive private estates of the Amalfi coast, the luxury rental Villa Limonaia offers a unique private retreat in an inspirational setting.

The grounds are almost entirely given over to the cultivation of lemon trees and the citrus-laden trellises extend from the top of the headland right down to the coastline. All year round the landscape is characterized by deep shades of green vegetation, vivid yellow of ripening lemons and profound blue of the sea below. Guests have exclusive use of a panoramic salt water swimming-pool of the holiday rental villa, ingeniously designed to incorporate the sheer cliff wall. A path leads down from the grounds to a private rocky cove at the waters’ edge. Furthermore, guests can enjoy the exclusive cooking of a local chef offering a daily first-class menu of seasonal dishes using locally grown ingredients.

The luxury holiday villa provides guests with small electric cars for easier access to the holiday property situated at the end of a winding tarmac road.

Within the large estate there is another independent rental villa called Torre Saracena. It is possible to rent the entire estate accommodating up to 28 people.

The Amalfi Coast, in Maiori, is surely one of the most magical parts of the Italian coast, an international tourist destination rich in natural beauty with lush vegetation flourishing on cliffs perched above a translucent sea. This is a place rich in history and art, and the locals have faithfully preserved their oldest traditions, which a curious observer can easily spot in the food, the crops, in streets of the towns, the architecture, and even in the landscape.

Here, fishing has been the main profession for centuries. Every evening from our property you can see the bobbing lights of the boats out for squid, like fireflies on the swells. And if you are an early riser, you will spot the fishermen leaving port on their way to check their nets.

The lemon groves on the mountainous slopes along the coast have seen toil and fatigue since the ancient harvests, and still today, on the steeper seemingly inaccessible slopes, donkeys are needed to ansport the lemons.

The cuisine here seduces even the pickiest visitors to the Amalfi coast, and the local liqueur, the famous limoncello, is nothing short of sensational. Spending a holiday with friends or family on the Amalfi Coast, in the sumptuous splendor of this southern Italian locale, is an indelible experience.
