Bellevue Estate, St. Michael, Barbados Vacation Rental
No villa rental experience on Barbados compares to Bellevue Estate. Live as the original planters did, looked after by our staff who are at hand to help with all aspects of your stay, from preparing authentic cuisine to guiding you through all the beautiful attractions of the island. You’ll be carefree, serene and happy throughout your time with us, we offer a truly unique villa rental.
You can enjoy our golf course at the exclusive Apes Hill Golf and Polo Club and take advantage of our membership, with reduced fees. Our reciprocal beach clubs are nearby and at your disposal every day. Stroll through the 70 miles of white and pink sand beaches surrounding our island, offering a huge array of water-sports (jet skis, catamarans, waterskiing) and amazing underwater sights including turtles, shipwrecks and brightly coloured, tropical fish. If snorkelling and diving don’t appeal, there are breathtaking submarine cruises.
Try a day inland, visiting our Flower Forest or Orchid World and the awesome Harrison’s Cave, a crystallised limestone cavern with deep, underground water pools – an unmissable adventure for the whole family. Go riding on the beaches of the east coast, which is also the best spot for surfing. From zip-lining to a flight along the coast in an ultralight for the intrepid, there are activities to suit everyone. Family catamaran trips to swim with the turtles or romantic sunset cruises all are arranged for you. Or simply sit by the pool and let the world go by.
The original house was the square Georgian block so prevalent throughout the British Colonial islands. However, the term ‘Caribbean Georgian’ was coined to describe the many delightful, tropical touches to this style that evolved in Barbados and the West Indies – the use of limestone, the adding of verandahs and galleries, raising the house over a full basement, imposing exterior stairs, push-out windows and jalousies shutters – all of which can be seen to beautiful effect at Bellevue.
This house is an ideal Barbados wedding venue and retreat centre because of its large entertainment rooms, spacious grounds, ample swimming pool and bar area. Bellevue is located just five minutes from the south coast beaches and ten from the west.As you enter the grounds, you are immediately struck by the grandeur and grace of years gone by. A sweeping dual stairway guides you to the large, wraparound verandah on the second level, from where you can take advantage of the spectacular views and watch magnificent sunsets over the Caribbean sea while sipping cocktails.
The entrance hall and formal living area, with polished wooden floors and several antique pieces, is located on the main level of the property. The master suite and three guest suites are also on this level. They are all air-conditioned and three of them open on to balconies. On the lower level are two further guest suites, a large family room featuring a mosaic design of the island of Barbados, and a study. There are two large dining tables which are suited both to eating and to holding board meetings. The formal dining room opens on to the terrace, bar and lounging patio. The bar was formerly the old chapel under the external stairs, lending it a distinctive ambience quite unlike anything else on the island. This patio looks out to the large pool and deck, surrounded by a lush garden and mature trees.
Bellevue offers three wedding package options – choose between the ‘Island in the Sun’ package incorporating seven days accommodation or the ‘Ginger Lily Walk’ or ‘Palm Aisle’ packages for day/overnight options – or simply book the venue for a single day/night. Whatever the size of your party and length of your stay, there’ll be an option that meets your requirements.
Marrying or renewing your vows at Bellevue makes for the most memorable and meaningful ceremony imaginable. There really is nothing quite like a Barbados wedding. Not only will you say your vows in a picture-perfect setting, you’ll be surrounded by our abundant gardens, which have been lovingly created in ‘English-Tropical’ style.Weddings in Barbados are like nothing else on earth. At Bellevue, the grounds teem with bright-feathered parrots, monkeys, hummingbirds, fruit bats and fireflies. Beautiful views greet you whichever way you look and there are 70 miles of pink and white sand beaches. The temperature rarely drops below 30°C, and you can bask in sunshine and then retreat into the air-conditioned rooms within.
The house is made of coral with a render over it, and inside are mahogany floors, ceiling fans, and wide verandahs which are perfect for watching the sun rise or set over the sea. Bellevue is located just five minutes from the south coast beaches and ten from the west. Although we are very much our own, beautiful oasis, with lots to explore, you’ll find restaurants, golf and endless beaches all within easy reach.
